$75,000 bond set for man charged in River North mob attack

The oldest of eight teenagers accused of beating three people Sunday night in the River North neighborhood was ordered held on $75,000 bond Monday.
Mitchell Cordarrowe, 18, of the 5900 block of South Indiana Avenue, was charged with one count each of felony mob action and aggravated battery, police said.
Cook County Judge Israel Desierto ordered Cordarrowe held on $75,000 bond on Monday, Cook County State’s Attorney’s office spokeswoman Tandra Simonton said. He will next appear June 15 in North Felony Court at 2452 W. Belmont Ave.
Cordarrowe and seven other teens are accused of beating up three people about 9:50 p.m. Sunday in the 500 block of North State Street, police said. Officers chased the group to 20 E. Kinzie St., where they were arrested.
The seven other juveniles -- two 16-year-olds, two 15-year-olds, two 14-year-olds and a 13-year-old -- were each charged with three counts of felony mob action, police said.
Two of the three victims required hospitalization. A 44-year-old man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital with serious injuries and a 31-year-old man was taken to the hospital with less serious injuries.
Area Central detectives are investigating.
