I-294 oasis shut down for armed robbery investigation

An investigation into an armed robbery early Friday at a McDonald’s at a Tri-State Tollway oasis in the south suburbs has had the facility shut down for nearly eight hours.
The armed robbery at the McDonald’s at the Lincoln Oasis, near South Holland, happened about 2:30 a.m., according to an Illinois State Police Tollway District Master Sergeant. No one was injured, but the robber, who got an undetermined amount of cash, got away.
No one was in custody as of about 10 a.m., the master sergeant said.
Investigators and state troopers remaiend at the scene as of about 10 a.m., he said. The oasis remained closed and state police did not know when it would reopen.
The Mobil station on the northbound Tri-State Tollway also remained closed as of about 10 a.m., while the Mobil on the southbound side was open for business.
