The woman best known in Chicago as Q101’s DJ Electra faces domestic battery charges after allegedly smacking her boyfriend in their Ravenswood Manor home.
Christine Pawlak, 31, who worked at the rock station until it adopted a news format last summer, was arrested May 14 in her home in the 2700 block of West Sunnyside, where she had hit her boyfriend, Chicago Police officer Darryl Baety said Tuesday.
A police source said that before midnight on May 14, officers arrived and allegedly saw Pawlak chasing her boyfriend out of an apartment building. When officers intervened, Pawlak allegedly slapped her boyfriend once in the head in front of the officer.
The boyfriend signed a complaint that alleges Pawlak had struck him in the head and body several times with open hands, the source said.
She was charged with misdemeanor domestic battery and released on $2,000 bail on May 15, according to court records; an emergency order of protection also was issued against her.
Pawlak returns to domestic violence court on June 8.
