Police are questioning a man after his two roommates were found dead Friday night in the South Side Woodlawn neighborhood.
At about 9:20 p.m., police received a call from someone who said their friend was going to kill his roommates who live in the 6500 block of South Kenwood, police said.
Police said the man remained at the scene and was armed. He refused to leave the apartment, and a SWAT team and the Police Department’s Hostage Barricade Terrorist Incident Unit were called in, police said.
The man eventually surrendered to police at 10 p.m. and was taken into custody, said police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro.
A male and a female were found unresponsive at the scene, Alfaro said.
A spokesperson for the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed the fatalities but had no further information early Saturday.
