Man dies in hit-and-run on Southwest Side

A man died after being struck by a car early Friday in the Southwest Side Little Village neighborhood. The driver then fled the scene.
The 36-year-old man was struck by a dark-colored sedan in the 3600 block of South Kedzie Avenue about 1:10 a.m., police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.
He suffered trauma to the head and body and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he later died, Alfaro said.
Eugenio Campos, 36, of the 3900 block of South Campbell Avenue, was pronounced dead at 1:49 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
The driver of the sedan then fled northbound as is still at large.
The Major Accidents Investigation Unit is investigating.
