Chicago’s top cop and prosecutor to discuss alleged NATO terrorism plot

Cook County State’s Attorney Anita Alvarez and Chicago Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy will discuss the charges against three out-of-state men accused of plotting to commit acts of domestic terrorism during the NATO Summit.
The top law enforcement officials plan to talk after Brian Church, Jared Chase and Brent Betterly go through bond court around noon Saturday at the Cook County Criminal Courthouse at 26th and California.
The authorities say the three men traveled to Chicago to commit acts of domestic terrorism during the NATO Summit. Church, Chase and Betterly were charged overnight with criminal acts relating to terrorism, conspiracy to commit terrorism and possession of explosives, authorities said.
