Man shot during robbery dies

A man critically wounded Tuesday night in a shooting in the West Side Garfield Park neighborhood has died.
The 22-year-old man was shot in the face during a robbery about 7 p.m. in the 4000 block of West West End Avenue, police said.
Paramedics took the man in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 10:46 p.m., authorities said.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office identified the man as Akeem J. Morris, of the 4200 block of West Jackson Boulevard.
No one is in custody early Wednesday, and Area North detectives are investigating.
