Police seek rapist with Mohawk

A 31-year-old woman was raped at knifepoint early Sunday in the Humboldt Park neighborhood, and police say it was not the first such attack by the suspect — a man with a Mohawk haircut.

About 1 a.m., the victim was walking on North Avenue between Homan and Pulaski when a man driving a small blue four-door vehicle approached and forced her into an alley in the 1400 block of Monticello, where he sexually assaulted her.

The suspect was described as a 35-year-old Hispanic man with a medium complexion, 5-7 or 5-8, with hair in a long Mohawk pulled into a ponytail. He also has a shoulder cross tattoo. Sun-Times Media
