Cops: Indiana sailor asked girlfriend to molest 3-year-old, send him photos

A sailor from northwest Indiana is accused of asking his former girlfriend to molest a 3-year-old boy and text him photos of the crime.
Ryan Schroeder, 26, of Valparaiso, was charged Monday with 23 felonies — including aiding in child molestation, aiding in child exploitation, possession of child pornography, aiding in voyeurism and aiding in theft, the Indiana State Police said.
Special agents from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service arrested Schroeder on Monday in Jacksonville, Fla., where he serves in the Navy. He is awaiting extradition.
In October, Tara Tryon, 21, of Wanatah, Ind., was charged with 20 counts of molesting a 3-year-old boy she was baby-sitting between Oct. 17, 2008, and May 2, 2011. She is out on bail.
Authorities said Schroeder asked Tryon, his girlfriend at the time, to molest the child and received photos of the molestation on his cell phone. Schroeder was not in the military at the time.
Police launched the investigation after an anonymous caller sent them images and videos showing Tryon involved in sex acts with a child.
