Man in underwear charged with DUI after crashing into cop car

A 24-year-old man was charged with DUI and a number of other driving-related offenses after he fell out of his car, clad in only underwear and socks, after crashing into a police squad car on the Northwest Side Saturday morning.

Police received a call about a possibly drunken driver around 11 a.m. near Diversey and Kostner, according to police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli.

The 2010 black four-door Honda Accord crashed into one of the responding squad cars at Kilbourn and George.

At that point, the driver of the Honda, 24-year-old Arsenio Garcia, “opened up the door and just fell out of the car,” Mirabelli said.

The officer who was in the squad car Garcia crashed into suffered minor injuries.
