Chicago Police fatally shot a man who allegedly pointed two guns at officers Sunday night at a West Side CTA station, officials said.
Police responded at 7:56 p.m. to a report of a person with a gun at the Pink Line station in the 2000 block of South Western and found a man pointing a gun at his own head, police said.
He then allegedly pointed a gun at officers who were trying to calm him, prompting police to shoot, police said. A weapon was recovered at the scene and no officers were hurt.
Fraternal Order of Police spokesman Pat Camden said officers and a sergeant were attempting to talk to the man when he pulled a second gun and aimed both at the officers, he said.
Harrison Area detectives and the Independent Police Review Authority, which investigates all police-involved shootings, are investigating.
