The home of a recently slain police officer was burglarized early Thursday morning, police said.
The burglar stole a television around 3:15 a.m. from Hester Scott’s home in the 8800 block of South Wallace, police said. The burglar forced entry through a rear window, police said.
No one was in custody early Friday.
Last week, Scott was allegedly stabbed to death in her home by her 15-year-old grandson, police said.
Prosecutors allege Keshawn Perkins erupted on Nov. 4 in a rage and repeatedly smashed Scott’s head with a lamp after Scott caught him skipping school asleep in front of the TV. She also was stabbed.
Perkins was charged as an adult with first-degree murder and armed robbery, and was ordered held without bond.
