A masked gunman robbed a man of his hooded sweat shirt in Evanston — after beginning the stickup by saying, “This is a robbery, give me your shoes.”
The gunman shot the victim in the thigh after stealing his sweat shirt, police said.
It happened at 2 a.m. Friday in the 1800 block of Lyons Street.
The victim told police he was talking with another person when they were approached by a man wearing a mask and dark clothing.
After demanding his shoes, the suspect also ordered the victim to removed his hoodie, which contained his cell phone, police said.
A quarrel ensued between the victim and suspect, who then shot the victim once in his right thigh before running off.
