70-year-old with 50 arrests faces DUI

A 70-year-old Chicago man with about 50 arrests was charged with driving under the influence after allegedly hitting a man with his car in the 8000 block of South Cottage Grove and fleeing the scene Monday.
John Martin, who did not have a driver’s license, was arrested near the 7400 block of South Chicago. Martin also allegedly kicked and damaged a window of a squad car when he was arrested.
Martin has arrests dating to 1962. The 28-year-old man whom Martin allegedly hit suffered a broken leg.
