Within a half hour span, one man was shot and another was hit by a car on the same West Side stretch of the Eisenhower Expressway Saturday night.
The shooting victim — a 47-year-old man — was inside a vehicle on Interstate 290 near Kedzie Avenue about 8:20 p.m. when he was shot, according to Illinois State Police.
He was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, but his condition was not yet known, state police said.
About half an hour earlier, another man was hit by a car after apparently running out into the eastbound lanes of I-290, also near Kedzie, according to state police.
He was unresponsive at the scene and was also taken to Stroger Hospital, state police said.
It was not immediately clear whether the two incidents were related.
