Authorities have identified the man who drowned Sunday while swimming with two friends in a northwest suburban lake.

William Trybula, 49, went swimming with two others in Pistakee Bay on Pistakee Lake on the Chain O’Lakes near McHenry during the afternoon, but he did not return to the boat the three had been riding in, according to the McHenry County Coroner’s office.

Authorities were called just before 4 p.m. and found Trybula, of Melrose Park, submerged in the bay about 45 minutes later, according to the coroner’s office.

He was taken to Centegra Hospital-McHenry where he was pronounced dead about 5 p.m.

An autopsy performed Monday revealed findings consistent with drowning, the coroner’s office said. Toxicology results are pending.
