One man was killed and another seriously injured in a shooting Wednesday afternoon in the Humboldt Park neighborhood, Chicago Police said.
The shooting happened about 12:25 p.m. in the 700 block of North Springfield Avenue, said Chicago Police Officer Janel Sedevic, a department spokeswoman.
Two men were shot and driven to Norwegian-American Hospital by a friend, Sedevic said.
One man, 37, was shot in the chest and pronounced dead at the hospital, Sedevic said. Another man, 40, was shot in the chest and listed in serious condition.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office confirmed the fatality, but could not immediately provide further details.
No arrests have been reported; detectives continue investigating.
