About 1:35 p.m. Saturday, a 25-year-old man was shot to death in the West Garfield Park neighborhood. Xavier Tripp was walking on the sidewalk in the 4100 block of West Adams Street when a vehicle pulled up alongside him and an unknown number of people got out, authorities said.

Shots were fired by at least one person in the group. Tripp was shot multiple times before they got back in the car and sped off, authorities said. Tripp, of the 1500 block of North Long Avenue, was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he died at 2:15 p.m., a spokesman for the medical examiner’s office said.

At 3:24 a.m., Saturday, a 34-year-old man was found shot to death less than a block from his home in the Little Village neighborhood. The body of Cesar Nieves, 35, was found in the 4100 block of West 28th Street, authorities said. Nieves lived in the 2800 block of South Kedvale Avenue, a spokesman for the medical examiner’s office said.

About 7:50 p.m. Friday, Summer Moore, 37, heard gunfire while sitting in a front yard in the 11400 block of South Aberdeen Street in the Morgan Park neighborhood, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office. She started to run but was struck in the chest, police said.

Moore, of the 3100 block of West Marquette Road, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where she was pronounced dead at 8:38 p.m., according to the medical examiner’s office.

The most recent nonfatal shooting happened at 7:34 p.m. Sunday. A 16-year-old boy and 28-year-old man were shot in the 1400 block of South Keeler Avenue, police said. The man, who was shot in the face and chest, was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition. The teen was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition with a gunshot wound in his buttocks.

At least 16 other people have been wounded in shootings across the city since Friday night.

No one was in custody for any of the shootings. Area detectives were investigating.
