The Chicago Police Department hosted its 82nd annual St. Jude Memorial March on Sunday to honor officers killed in the line of duty.

Police Supt. Garry McCarthy joined current and former Chicago police officers and their families for the quarter-mile march.

Participants began at the Gold Star Families Memorial and Park just east of Soldier Field and marched south toward Waldron Drive.

Several thousand people marched during the tribute Sunday.
