Updated: April 17, 2014 5:28PM

A man was shot in the face late Thursday morning in the South Side Auburn Gresham neighborhood.

The 18-year-old was walking in the 8900 block of South Justine Street about just before noon when two males in a silver SUV drove up and fired shots, striking him in the face, said Chicago Police Officer Veejay Zala, a department spokesman.

The suspect then drove off.

The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was listed in fair condition, Zala said.

No one is in custody as Area South detectives investigate.
