Man dead, two others hurt in South Shore stabbing

A man was killed and two others were injured — one critically — in a stabbing Friday evening in the South Shore neighborhood, officials said.

Police responded to a call of a person stabbed in the 7800 block of South Bennett Avenue and found three men with stab wounds in a second-floor hallway, police said.

A 27-year-old man was dead at the scene with multiple stab wounds to the body, police said.

The medical examiner’s office confirmed the death but could not provide further details Friday night.

A 41-year-old man was stabbed in the chest and legs and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition, police said.

A 32-year-old man was taken to Stroger Hospital in “stable” condition with a stab wound to the hip, police said.

No one is in custody as Area South detectives investigate.
