A 16-year-old girl was shot Tuesday afternoon in the Pilsen neighborhood.
The girl suffered a gunshot wound in the upper chest and shoulder about 4 p.m. while she was walking on the sidewalk in the 1700 block of West 18th Street, said Officer Thomas Sweeney, a Chicago Police spokesman.
She apparently saw two groups of males in an argument before she was shot, Sweeney said.
She was taken to Stroger Hospital, Sweeney said.
No one was in custody. Area Central detectives were investigating.
