A man arrested in South Carolina on a warrant for a fatal 2011 shooting of a 17-year-old boy on the West Side was ordered held without bond Sunday.
Lavonte Moore was arrested Friday in South Carolina for the shooting death of Henry Taylor in the 4700 block of West Van Buren, court records show.
He was extradited to Chicago and charged with one count of first-degree murder, authorities said.
Judge Adam Bourgeois Jr. ordered Moore, 26, held without bond at a hearing Sunday.
Taylor, 32, and a 17-year-old boy walked into Loretto Hospital about 6:25 p.m. May 20, 2011, and said they had been shot in the 4700 block of West Van Buren, authorities said at the time.
Taylor suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transferred to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where he died later that day, the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office said at the time.
A court file listed addresses for Moore in Hillside and Greenville, South Carolina. A warrant was issued for his arrest Jan. 31, records show.
