One person was hospitalized Friday night after a four cars crashed into a jackknifed semi truck on Interstate 88 in west suburban Downers Grove.
Rescue crews responded to five-vehicle crash about 10:35 p.m. on westbound I-88 at the Veterans Memorial Tollway (I-355) interchange, said Illinois State Police Sgt. Nathan Anderson.
One female was taken with non-life-threatening injuries to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, Anderson said.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but Anderson said slick road conditions may have played a role.
All lanes of the expressway were open about 11:15 p.m., after police closed three lanes to remove the crashed vehicles, Anderson said.
No citations were issued as of 12:30 a.m. Saturday as Illinois State Police continue to investigate.
