The Chicago police are investigating the death of a 2-year-old girl Saturday in South Chicago.

The girl, whose name hasn’t been released, was rushed to Jackson Park Hospital with a head injury around 2:15 p.m. Saturday from a home in the 3300 block of East 91st Street, according to the police.

She died at the hospital, according to the Chicago Fire Department.

Her father, John White, 21, said little Jah’niyah White didn’t live at the 91st Street address but was there with relatives while her mother was at work.

He said he was told the girl fell.

White said his daughter was a smart little girl.

“She talked a lot,” he said. “She liked to play. She knew all the ABCs.”
