Suburban man fatally stabbed in West Pullman on birthday


A Dixmoor man was fatally stabbed on his birthday early Sunday in the West Pullman neighborhood.

Nick Lamar Seay, of the 14200 block of South Marshfield Avenue in Dixmoor, was stabbed multiple times about 1:55 a.m. inside a residence on the 50 block of West 118th Street, authorities said. Sunday was Seay's 30th birthday.

Seay was arguing with another male that he knew when the dispute became physical and the other male pulled a knife and stabbed Seay multiple times, police said.

Seay was pronounced dead at 2:55 a.m. at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

While the exact relationship between the suspect and Seay was not being disclosed, Calumet Area police Sgt. John Pellegrini said it wa "quasi" domestic-related.

As of early Sunday afternoon that the suspect is not in custody.

"He is wanted right now,'' Pellegrini said.

An autopsy is scheduled for later Sunday, the medical examiner's office said.

A knife was not recovered, according to Pellegrini, who said no one else was hurt.

Calumet Area detectives are investigating.
