Man stabbed by girlfriend's son, 10, on South Side
A man is in surgery Sunday morning after he was stabbed by his ex-girlfriend's 10-year-old son in a domestic incident in the South Side West Pullman neighborhood.
The incident occurred at 12:30 a.m. at West 118th and South Wallace streets, according to a Calumet District lieutenant.
The man, 35, had climbed in through the back window of his ex-girlfriend's residence and attacked her, the lieutenant said. The woman's son tried to intervene, and when the man knocked him out of the way, the boy grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed the man in the left shoulder.
The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in "stable" condition, the lieutenant said. His injuries required surgery, but did not appear to be life-threatening. The woman was not badly beaten.
Calumet District police are investigating.
