3 men, 1 woman shot in lot on Near North Side

November 8, 2009

Three men and one woman were hospitalized early Sunday morning after a shooting in a lot on the Near North Side.

The four victims were shot by an unknown offender in a lot on the 410 block of West Goethe Street at 12:05 a.m., according to police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer. They were all hospitalized at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

A man, 27, was listed in "stable" condition with gunshot wounds to both legs and an ankle. Another man, 25, was also in "stable" condition with a gunshot wound to the buttocks. A third man, 28 -- who was refusing to cooperate with police -- was in good condition after being shot in the foot. A woman, 47, was shot in the abdomen and thigh and in good condition, police said.

Greer originally said the property was owned by the Chicago Housing Authority but CHA spokesman Matt Aguilar said the agency does not own the property.

No one was in custody and motive was unknown Sunday morning.

Belmont Area Detectives are investigating.
