Man murdered in Humboldt Park

November 5, 2009

A man who was shot Wednesday night in the Humboldt Park neighborhood and later died has been identified.

A man suffered a gunshot wound to the back in the 900 block of North Central Park Avenue about 7:15 p.m., police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli said.

Terril Bell, 37, of the 4400 block of West West End Avenue, was pronounced dead at 8:26 p.m. at Mount Sinai Hospital, according to a spokeswoman for the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

The medical examiner’s office used the 3600 block of West Augusta Boulevard as the address of the shooting.

The man was initially taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, Mirabelli said.

Harrison District police Capt. Roger Bay said no one was in custody at 1:15 a.m. Thursday.

An autopsy is scheduled for later Thursday and Harrison Area detectives are investigating.
