Two men shot, one fatally, on South Side

Two men stopped in a vehicle talking to people were shot, on fatally, Thursday night in the South Shore neighborhood on the South Side.

The two men were stopped in a vehicle in the 7400 block of South Colfax Avenue talking to a group of people when they were shot shortly before midnight. A 23-year-old man was dead on arrival at Jackson Park Hospital and a 20-year-old man was taken to Jackson Park in good condition, according to police News Affairs Officer David Banks.

Ian Rush, 23, of the 1800 block of East 93rd Street, was fatally shot was pronounced dead at Jackson Park at 11:13 p.m., according to a Cook County Medical Examiner’s office spokesman.

No one was in custody as of 5:30 a.m. and Calumet Area detectives are investigating.
