Three stabbed in West Side deli
One man is in custody Friday morning in connection to the possible gang-related stabbings of three people in a West Side delicatessen Thursday afternoon.
About 2:45 p.m., three people were stabbed inside Granddaddy's Deli at the 2300 block of West Taylor Street, according to police News Affairs officer JoAnn Taylor.
A woman in her 30s, a man in his 30s and a man in his 50s were all found stabbed, but none of their injuries are believed to be life-threatening, Taylor said.
A man is in custody early Friday morning in relation to the stabbings, police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.
Paramedics responded about 2:47 p.m. and found three people stabbed, according to Fire Media Affairs Asst. Director Eve Rodriguez, who said only two of the three people stabbed were hospitalized.
A man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition and a woman was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County in critical condition, Rodriguez said.
Taylor said police believe the incident may be gang-related, but no further information was available as of 1 a.m.
