A motorist was arrested after crashing into a Chicago Police SUV, injuring two officers and third person early Sunday in the Gold Coast neighborhood.
Two officers were sitting in a squad car parked in the 1300 block of North Clark Street when the driver crashed into their SUV about 3:30 a.m., authorities said.
The officers were investigating a previous accident and a 35-year-old man was sitting in the back of the squad car, which had its lights on at the time of the crash, Chicago Police Officer Daniel O’Brien said.
Paramedics transported one officer and the man to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, while the second officer was sent to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. All victims were in good condition.
The driver was taken into police custody and is being questioned, but no charges have been filed as of Sunday night.
