2 killed, 6 wounded in weekend shootings

Two people were killed and at least six were wounded in weekend shootings across the city, police said.
A 17-year-old boy was killed and his cousin was injured Saturday night in the Little Village neighborhood on the Southwest Side.
Oscar Marquez, 17, of the 700 block of South Oakley and his 18-year-old cousin were in a vehicle near Western and Cermak when a gunman drove up, got out of his vehicle and opened fire on them with a shotgun about 6:15 p.m. Saturday, authorities said.
The 18-year-old drove to Rush University Medical Center, but by the time they arrived, Marquez had died, authorities said.
He had been shot in the head, according to police. The 18-year-old cousin was transferred to Stroger Hospital, police said.
An 18-year-old woman was fatally shot in the shoulder about 7 p.m. Friday in the Humboldt Park neighborhood, authorities said.
Frances Colon, of the 2900 block of West Armitage, was shot in the 1100 block of North Pulaski and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she died about an hour and fifteen minutes later, authorities said.
Five other people were injured in shootings since Friday afternoon, police said.
Just after 9 p.m. Sunday, a 28-year-old man was shot while in a white Chevrolet Blazer in the 2200 block of North Keating on the Northwest Side. Authorities say at least one gunman approached and opened fire, shooting the man through the windshield of the SUV. The man was taken to an area hospital with a gunshot wound in his shoulder and was listed in good condition, police said.
About 1:50 p.m. Sunday, a 17-year-old boy was wounded in a shooting in the 2400 block of South Pulaski in the Lawndale neighborhood, according to police. He was shot three times in his legs, police said. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, according to police. Further details were not available.
About 7:15 p.m. Saturday, two men were shot in the 7800 block of South Merrill in the South Chicago neighborhood, police said. The men were sitting on a porch when two suspects came out of a nearby gangway and fired several shots, striking a 19-year-old in his ankle and a 20-year-old in his knee, police said. Both men were taken in good condition to Stroger Hospital.
About 5:30 p.m. Saturday, a 29-year-old man was shot in his hip while sitting in his car in the 6700 block of South Bell in the Englewood neighborhood, police said. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
No one was in custody in any of the shootings.
