Former Waukegan basketball star Jereme Richmond was sentenced Friday to four days in jail for probation violations.
Richmond, 20, was booked at the Lake County Jail after a court hearing before Judge John Phillips. Richmond will serve three days in jail — Friday to noon Sunday. He will report back to jail Friday, Feb. 22, and be released at noon Sunday, Feb. 24. He will have to serve an additional four days in jail if he does not have good behavior while he is in custody.
Richmond is a player for the Sauk Valley Predators semi-professional basketball team in Sterling, which is about 140 miles west of Waukegan.
Richmond played at Illinois, but declared for the NBA draft after his freshman season in 2011. He was not drafted.
He is serving 18 months probation for an incident in August 2011 in which he brought a loaded gun to his ex- girlfriend’s house. He was ordered to attend domestic violence treatment, substance abuse treatment, abide by a curfew and not consume any drugs or alcohol.
