A former Naperville North High School guidance counselor admitted Tuesday he carried on a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old female student.
John Carbonaro, 35, pleaded guilty to felony criminal sexual abuse as part of a plea deal that is expected to see him serve 30 days of jail work-release and 30 months probation.
He also will have to register for 10 years as a sex offender, DuPage County authorities said.
Carbonaro had sexual contact with the Naperville North student in 2010 at his home while he worked as a guidance counselor and coach at the school, officials said.
Judge Blanche Fawell is expected to formally sentence Carbonaro next month.
