Police fatally shoot 2 men in separate incidents

Two men were fatally shot by police Thursday in unrelated incidents in Chicago and Maywood.
Chicago Police fatally shot a man who allegedly pointed a gun at officers in Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood on the South Side.
The officers saw the man emerge from an alley with a handgun in the 6700 block of South Indiana and gave chase on foot about 3:30 p.m., authorities said. The unidentified man, in his late-teens or early-20s, allegedly pointed the gun at officers, who fatally shot him, authorities said.
In an unrelated incident, Maywood police fatally shot a man who pointed a gun at officers about 4:30 p.m. in the western suburb.
Police responding to a call at an apartment building in the 1800 block of South 19th Avenue saw a 20-year-old Maywood man run into the back of the building when officers tried to question him. The officers gave chase and shot him once in the chest.
