President Obama’s campaign strategist David Axelrod has purchased a $1.7 million condo in Water Tower Place. Axelrod, a longtime Streeterville resident, made it clear when he accompanied Obama to Washington that he was a “Chicagoan on assignment” and would be returning home. After what he hopes will be a successful campaign to re-elect Obama, Axelrod will head up the Institute of Politics named for him at his alma mater, the University of Chicago.
