Evergreen Park man killed by falling debris at construction site

An Evergreen Park man was killed by a piece of falling debris Monday afternoon at a construction site on the Far South Side, officials said.
James Quigley, 37, of the 9700 block of South Lawndale Ave., was at the site in the 13100 block of South Torrence when a piece of debris, possibly iron, struck him at 4:12 p.m., police said.
He was taken to MetroSouth Medical Center in Blue Island where he was pronounced dead at 5:21 p.m., officials said.
Police could not say what the man was doing at the site.
Police are investigating the incident.
