A 17-year-old student accused of fatally stabbing a schoolmate Thursday inside a Southwest Side alternative high school was ordered held without bond Saturday.

Christian Gonzalez, of the 4000 block of South Talman, was charged as an adult with one count each of murder and attempted murder in the fatal stabbing of 17-year-old Chris Wormely at 7:30 a.m. Thursday inside AMIkids Infinity Chicago High School at 10211 S. Crandon, authorities said. A 16-year-old boy was also stabbed.

The attack occurred while the victims were waiting in line for a security check at the beginning of the school day, police said.

School officials said they believe the stabbing resulted from a previous conflict between the students. But Wormely’s relatives said they didn’t know of any problems between him and Gonzalez.
