College student offering ‘Walk of Shame Shuttle’ post-hookup ride home

A University of Michigan student has begun offering a “walk of shame shuttle” to give a post-hookup ride home or to the dorm for students who wake up somewhere else after a night of debauchery.

Kellyann Wargo says she started the service in Ann Arbor, Mich., to help people avoid the embarassing “walk of shame” home after a night of sex and drinking.

“Chances are someone is calling me because their hookup doesn’t have a car and won’t walk them home,” Wargo told the Michigan Daily News, the University of Michigan student newspaper.

She’s charging $5 to drive people home — and throwing in a bottle of water and a coupon for $5 off on the Plan B morning-after contraceptive. She says she’s limiting her service to people she knows or know someone she knows.

She started the business because, she says, “I’d spend a lot of time picking up friends, and they would buy me McDonald’s in retun. We were spending a lot of time at McDonald’s, and I wondered, ‘Can you give me money instead?’ ”

Also, she says, “I know how much walking home or taking a taxi sucks.”
