A suspicious package at a downtown Metra station stopped morning commuters in their tracks on the South Shore and Metra Electric lines Wednesday.
The incident at the Van Buren Metra station was reported about 6:50 a.m., halting service north of Roosevelt. Service was restored about 8:20 a.m.
Chicago Fire officials confirmed that the package posed no threat.
