The body of a missing Wheaton woman was found Saturday in nearby Glen Ellyn, police said in a news release.

The body of Linda Valez, 33, was found in a forested area of a park in the western suburb, Glen Ellyn Police said in the release.

Glen Ellyn Police were prompted to patrol the area near Panfish Park after Wheaton Police reported earlier this week that the woman was missing.

While in the area, officers noticed signs of “foot traffic and activity that appeared to have occurred in a forested area of the park,” according to the release. The DuPage County Sheriff’s office and Wheaton police were called to aid in the search.

Police found Valez’s body, which showed “obvious” signs of trauma, late Saturday afternoon, the release stated.

The DuPage County Major Crimes Task Force was investigating.
