“SUPER FUN NIGHT” (8:30 p.m., Wednesday, WLS-Channel 7): Rebel Wilson’s comedy about a trio of misfit shut-ins testing the social waters is neither super, nor fun. It’s more like Sad Downer Night watching the talented Wilson (“Bridesmaids,” “Pitch Perfect”) repeatedly exploit her own heft in a failed attempt for cheap laughs. Rating: ★
“IRONSIDE” (9 p.m., Wednesday, WMAQ-Channel 5): What do beehives, freshly painted fingernails and Raymond Burr’s old cop drama have in common? They’re all things better left alone. But that didn’t stop NBC from rebooting this generic series with Blair Underwood as the detective in a wheelchair. While it’s better than getting stung by a bee, I’d rather watch fingernails dry. Rating: ★
“THE ORIGINALS” (8 p.m., Thursday, WGN-Channel 9): If you’re into “The Vampire Diaries” (I’m not), you’ll get sucked into this sleek spinoff centered on the world’s most veteran vampires and their power struggle in New Orleans. The exposition-heavy premiere packs in a few scenes from an earlier “Diaries” episode, capping off with a cliff-hanger. The show moves to its regular 7 p.m. Tuesday time slot next week. Rating: ★★½ In other supernatural news, Lifetime’s “The Witches of East End” debuts at 9 p.m. Sunday. Julia Ormond stars as the immortal mother of two daughters who don’t know they’re blessed/cursed with witch powers in this soapy, silly adaptation of Melissa de la Cruz’s best-seller. Rating: ★
“SCANDAL” (9 p.m. Thursday, WLS-Channel 7): The Red Bull-driven plot picks up right where we left off in season two’s shocker of a finale. Fixer extraordinaire Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) has been outed as the president’s mistress and re-introduced to dear old Dad.
