A Midlothian man was charged with home invasion and resisting arrest after allegedly breaking into a home in the south suburb.
Prosecutors said James E. Aardsma, 25, tried to take a Dell laptop from a home in the 14800 block of South Hamlin.
Court records show Aardsma was armed with a knife, and he punched the man who lives there in the face. The victim punched him back, a prosecutor said.
Aardsma also tried to run from police while they tried to put him in a patrol car, court records show.
