A Zion teen was charged with two counts of first-degree murder and a woman was charged with one count of child endangement in the death of their 5-month-old son.

Zion police and fire units responded to a 911 call that the baby was not breathing at 3:58 a.m. Thursday. They found the infant in severe distress and took him to Vista East Hospital in Waukegan, where he was later pronounced dead.

An autopsy determined that the infant died as a result of blunt force trauma to the head.

Bond was set at $2 million Thursday in court in Waukegan for Victor Javier Salinas-Corona, 17, and $100,000 for Aurora Escamilla, 19, according to a new release from Zion Police. They were being held at the Lake County Jail.
