A candy store cashier was held on $75,000 bail Sunday after police said they found crack cocaine and marijuana Saturday at the store on Chicago’s Southeast Side.
Gloria Estrada, 46, was seen stuffing a large clear sandwich bag in her bra as officers executed a search warrant in the 3000 block of East 83rd Street, according to court records.
Police said they had received information that drug sales were taking place inside the candy store. Estrada is charged with possession of both drugs. They said they found a metal lock box containing a clear plastic bag filled with four knotted baggies each filled with crack cocaine.
Estrada also had a clear sandwich bag filled with 20 small bags containing marijuana, according to police reports. Police also said they found $176 in cash.
“It is deplorable that a store of this type was used for drug sales,” 4th District Police Lt. Kevin Milmine said.
