Two males were wounded, one reportedly fatally and the other critically, in a shooting in the West Side Austin neighborhood Saturday.

The shooting happened about 12:45 p.m. in the 4900 block of West Washington Boulevard, according to police News Affairs Officer Laura Kubiak.

One victim was dead on the scene, Kubiak said. The other victim was taken in serious to critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, according to Fire Media Affairs spokeswoman Meg Ahlheim. The age of that victim was not immediately known.

Area North detectives are investigating.
