‘Will it never end?” a longtime John Travolta friend said Tuesday with a sigh.
As Travolta and wife Kelly Preston made a big show of affection on the red carpet at the Hollywood premiere of his new film “Savages,” the actor’s attorney Marty Singer was fighting off yet another lawsuit — one the top Hollywood lawyer called “ludicrous.” This latest suit was filed by ex-Royal Caribbean Cruise steward Fabian Zanzi, claiming the actor propositioned him sexually on a 2009 cruise and then, when turned down, offered Zanzi $12,000 to keep quiet. “John is adamant about fighting these allegations he made inappropriate sexual advances to all those men, but it’s certainly taking a big toll. … I don’t know how he can deal with all of it,” my source said. “If it’s untrue, I can understand his anger, but these people keep coming out of the closet, so to speak.”
JUST LIKE TOM!
While Tom Cruise has been known to play hero when seeing people in physical danger, it looks like “The Hunger Games” star Jennifer Lawrence is also quick to respond to similar crises.
The actress was nearby when a young girl collapsed on the front lawn of her Los Angeles-area apartment complex. According to TMZ, the Santa Monica Police reported Lawrence was out walking her dog when she spotted the girl on her lawn.
Without hesitating, she rushed to her side while others phoned 911. It appears the underage girl had been drinking — clearly too much.
An associate of Lawrence told me Tuesday, “That’s just so like Jennifer. She is such a caring person, and it doesn’t surprise me she would drop everything and rush to help someone in trouble.”
THE LOVE FILE: Sounds like Katy Perry has decided to replay an old romance as she moves on from her painful divorce from Russell Brand — documented in both her upcoming personal documentary and on her new album and the music video to support it. Perry again has been seeing ex-beau Robert Ackroyd, the guitarist for Florence + the Machine. The duo were a couple before Perry’s marriage to Brand.
† Kelly Osbourne is clearly lovestruck by Matthew Mosshart, who she has tweeted is a “celebrity chef.” Beyond that, Matthew also has a rock connection — always an important factor for Ms. O — since he’s the brother of the Kills’ Allison Mosshart.
Let’s hope this romance works out better for Osbourne than her ill-fated engagement to Luke Worrell, whose cheating on her with a transsexual led to the couple’s bitter split.
† There’s a lot of evidence that the connection James Franco made with Amanda Seyfried while they filmed “Lovelace” is developing into something far more serious. While it’s been Franco who reportedly has been chasing Seyfried — “like a lovesick schoolboy,” according to a B.Z. source — it seems to be working. “Amanda is very much intrigued by James,” said a second source, close to the actress. Franco played Hugh Hefner in “Lovelace,” with Seyfried stepping into the title role of the porn actress Linda Lovelace after Lindsay Lohan dropped out during her turbulent legal problems.
† Congrats to “The Hangover” star Zach Galifianakis, who hopefully will have a much tamer bachelor party than those he’s participated in on the big screen! The actor, 42, just became engaged to longtime girlfriend Quinn Lundberg, 29. According to Celebuzz.com, the invitation to the Aug. 11 wedding captures the funnyman’s real-life humor — including drawings of himself and his bride-to-be making Galifianakis look “like a troll, while Quinn is a stunning, tall, blond princess.”
STAR BURGLARY: While “Mad Men” star Jon Hamm and his longtime girlfriend, actress and writer Jennifer Westfeldt, were dining in a fancy London restaurant, Westfeldt’s purse was snatched. The robber then used the hotel key in the bag to gain access to the couple’s room. Reportedly stolen were several pieces of jewelry holding a lot of sentimental value.
Hamm and Westfeldt were in London for the British opening of “Friends With Kids,” the film written and directed by Westfeldt.
