People have come up with some pretty clever ways to try to cheat on drug tests, but a northwest suburban parolee was not very original and now is behind bars facing a felony charge.

Brian J. Uchwat, 29, of Schaumburg, arrived at the McHenry County government center Wednesday for a court-ordered drug and alcohol screening, part of his probation agreement.

But according to the McHenry County Sheriff’s office, what he turned in was a sample of water he removed from the toilet.

Uchwat, of 1640 Churchill Rd., was immediately arrested and is now charged with defrauding a drug and alcohol screening test, police said. He remains in custody at the McHenry County Adult Correctional Facility awaiting a bond hearing.

McHenry County Court Services Director Phil Dailing said in a statement that “any attempt by a probationer to tamper with a court-ordered urine screen is considered a serious matter and requires an immediate response...”
