A man who swore at Mayor Richard M. Daley on his last day in office before a cop chased him and was grazed by a CTA bus was sentenced to three years in prison Friday for aggravated battery to a police officer.
Janusz Kopycinski, 31, told Cook County Judge Thomas Gainer he didn’t intend to do any harm as Daley walked out of City Hall for the last time as mayor last May.
As a crowd gathered to watch Daley say goodbye, Kopycinski yelled “F - - - the mayor,’’ police said.
Officers gave chase after Kopycinski ran away. While he was being arrested, an officer was slightly injured by a moving CTA bus.
Gainer found guilty Kopycinski at a bench trial in April.
Kopycinski, of the 6500 block of West Wellington, was previously arrested in 2007 for battery to police.
